Continued blog from 7/23/10. Yesterday I had left off with several signs of passing out. I realized I was going to pass out if I didn't get cooled off. I asked my hairdresser if it was OK to take off the plastic cover that keeps the hair products off your clothes. We quickly got that off and my hairdresser noticed how deathly white my face had gotten. Luckily, I had just been telling her about the gestational diabetes and she was a fast thinker. I would've been horrified to pass out in front of a bunch of people, especially on my friend's wedding day. She grabbed a Sprite, chock full of sugar, and a towel wrapped in ice to put on my neck. She claimed I was burning up and my neck was slick with sweat. Immediately after the big glass of Sprite my color returned. I felt "funny" and shaky for about another hour but thankfully I did not pass out. The experience left me a little freaked out and I'm not sure what to make of it yet. Is it because I basically must have gestational diabetes or it just got too hot? I'm not sure but now when I get overheated I'm going to make sure I take it seriously. There's no way I want to pass out and possibly in anyway hurt my baby.
